The situation is not under control:

Thursday (Politico):
Latest debt deal under fire

White House debt talks were described at the “fish-or-cut-bait” stage Thursday night, as President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner sought to keep alive an estimated $3 trillion deficit-reduction package already taking fire from the left and right.

Budget director Jack Lew received a fierce, angry, even screaming reception at the Senate Democratic Caucus, and Democratic congressional leaders were called to the White House to meet with the president for nearly two hours Thursday evening.>
Is that true? Democratic Senators screaming at a White House member over the budget talks. Senators? Democrats?

What the hell is going on?

Here's how it was supposed to go. House produces wildly unpopular legislation containing entitlement and spending cuts that broadly enrage Americans. Senate, backed by President, votes down legislation, forcing House to cave in and raise debt limit, raise taxes, not cut anything. Reid and Obama come out as heroes. Republicans lose.

But the Republicans didn't play along. Instead, House produced budget-slashing legislation wildly popular in all demographics. President stands on the sidelines while Senate rejects legislation. Senate is left holding the bag. Senators scream at Obama because he just f***ed them over.

Why?

Barack Obama has no principles other than one. He will do what best helps Barack Obama. He is not a progressive. He is not a socialist. He is not a centrist. He is not a Democrat, big 'D' or little 'd'. He is not a conservative democrat. He has always aligned himself with power. In Chicago, this meant aligning himself with Democrats and socialists. (I'm not saying that he's a socialist; that is a matter of what is in his heart. I am saying that he has always aligned himself with socialists; that is public record.)

Now that Republicans are overtaking Democrats in Congress he is realigning with Republicans, because, like Clinton, that is his path to a second term. Barack Obama will do anything for a second term. Anything. And right now, the best thing for Barack Obama to do to maximize his chances of a second term is to throw the Democratic Senate under the bus. That's exactly what he is doing and that's why Democratic Senators are screaming at him. He is bending them over the table and f***ing them up the ass, and the compromise he is willing to make is a Republican Senate, a Republican House, and President Barack Obama.

Sometimes I find myself screaming at people when they turn out to be assholes. Perhaps Barack Obama is turning out to be an asshole.

Remember how they used to call him, "No drama Obama"?
