Yes, it is laughable that support for the Crusades would become an issue but no longer unusual; remember the last election when Obama was accused of being anti-colonial (BTW: I think our first three presidents were definitely anti-colonial) and a senate candidate for one of the thirteen colonies was accused of witchcraft.
