Shorter Tom Friedman:I used to get all my ideas from chatting with taxi drivers, but now I spend my days in Chinese factories. And even though I write, "The backbone of the modern U.S. economy was locally made cars powered by locally produced oil", I'm not going to propose any trade policy that would give domestic electric car manufacturing an advantage.
