A base-depressing move:The news that Obama will NOT nominate Elizabeth Warren to that consumer protection agency, but will, instead, have her as an assistant to President Obama, is not good news. Most likely she will have the same amount of policy influence as that other adviser, Paul Volker. That is to say, very little.
UPDATE: Her status may not be quite that lowly, so maybe the situation isn't as bad as some fear. Still, it's odd that Obama didn't nominate - and fight for - her as the official head of the agency.

Yeah. And let the GOP hold up her confirmation for months, if not years. In the meantime, the CFPB is unable to function due to Senate dysfunction.
This way, she goes to work immediately, getting the new agency up and running. Some movement, however slow, is better than total paralysis.
But there's just no pleasing you progressives, is there? Obama's a pragmatist, not an ideologue. I know that bugs the hell out of you guys.
pragmatists get impeached.
who needs a pragmatist? we need an ass kicker.
