Racial tensions set to rise?

Fox News has been banging the drum about the New Black Panther Party for a couple of weeks. Sean Hannity on his radio show today is playing audio tapes of various NBPP people saying outrageous things. This merits watching.

It's not clear how this is "supposed" to play out. It can't go on forever. How with Fox and similar agents let go of the story?

I suspect it will mostly end in early November.

Andrew Braitbart is leading the charge with his videotape of an overtly racist government official recounting, at her own NAACP award ceremony, how she abused her authority and deliberately decided not to help a poor farmer fighting bankruptcy keep his farm because he was white. Not a single person in the NAACP member audience objects, and more than one verbally take her side.

The right is punching back twice as hard against false accusations of racism by the left. Unfortunately for liberals, the left has been so complacent for so long about open, casual anti-white racism that it's like shooting fish in a barrel at this point. At this rate, by November, most Americans will believe, correctly in my opinion, that most if not all racism, racial discrimination and bigotry left in America comes from Liberals and Democrats.

The only difference is that the right has the videotaped proof, and none of the left's accusations seem to have any proof at all. And don't bet the house on this being all that Braitbart's got. The man has a sense of timing. If he's starting now, you can bet he has a steady stream of Democrat/Liberal/left anti-white racism to expose.

Hey, Obama's tool Holder wanted a national discussion about race. For the next few months, they've got one.

You crack me up, dude. Seriously. Lemme quote your hero Rush Limbaugh:

"Take that bone out of your nose and call me back!"

"Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it."

"The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."

"Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"

"I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They're interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn't deserve."

Dude, I could do this all day. The right wing is racist to the core, and you know it.

Oh, and Anonymous, if that is your real name: As usual, your side is full of crap.

Here's more for you to chew on, Anon (may I call you Anon?)

Rush Limbaugh is not my hero. I never listen to him. Another straw-man from the usual source.

I’ve watched the entire video, and I’m not impressed. Here’s why.

Sherrod is a petty tyrant. Her “redemption” consists of rejecting a form of petty tyranny — discrimination against white people — that is frowned upon, and replacing it with a more socially acceptable form of petty tyrany — discrimination against people who are not poor enough to meet her personal standard of approval.

It would seem to me that her job description as a government official is to help anyone and everyone who asks for help or is sent to her, without regard to their color, race or socioeconomic background. But in her mentality, no, that is exactly the special privilege of the tyrant government bureaucrat. No one receives help without first stroking the tyrant bureaucrat’s ego. This man wasn’t black, so his race was no help there with the racist petty tyrant. But fortunately he was poor, so he lucked out in that he was able to arouse pity in the bureaucrat, who fortunately for him turned out to also be a Marxist petty tyrant, perfectly willing to grant or withhold government services based on socioeconomic status.

What if instead of a “poor” man, the person coming to see Ms. Sherrod had been lower middle class. trying to keep his land against a government using all its power to take it from him, she would have had no reason to help him, as he wasn’t black, and wasn’t poor enough. I don’t make a huge amount of money. Certainly not enough to pay lawyers to fight the government. If I had to go to a government office, I would hope and pray that I wouldn’t have the misfortune to encounter someone like Ms. Sherrod. I wouldn’t happen to meet her personal standards for who is and is not worthy of receiving the attentions of such an important person as herself.

Two other points that really rubbed me raw. First, when she describes her first encounter with this poor white person, Sherrod makes a point of emphasizing how he was trying to show his superiority to her. It apparently never dawns upon her that a person facing seizure of their land by the government is probably a terrified person, operating and functioning way, way out of their comfort zone. She never explains exactly how he was trying to “prove” this, but Sherrod seems to be trying really hard to signal that this man was behaving “uppity”, to use the word that a white racist would use in the same situation. Of course, a black racist can’t use that word, but she gets the message across crystal clear to her extremely sympathetic audience, who respond with knowing murmurs.

And as far as her being “redeemed”, later in the speech she tells a story where she laments that so many acres of black-owned farmland are being sold to whites, and describes how she recently used her office to try and prevent the sale of land to whites. She laments the fact that ultimately some of the land went to a new white owner.

This is not a redeemed person. This is not a person doing God’s work. This is a person who has devoted her life to using her power as a government bureaucrat to indulge her own prejudices, first against white people as a racist, then as a Marxist, by turning her hate from white people to successful people, and then as a racist again, by using her office to fight the free-market sale of black-owned land to a white buyer, based on nothing more than the color of his skin.

Maybe if she had worked with the white land-buyer to help him buy the land instead of illegally using government lawyers in her racist agenda to prevent him from doing so, she might have made another friend. That buyer probably wasn't "poor" enough to earn her sympathy though. In short, she has learned nothing. She is a still a petty tyrant, and still a racist. Sherrod is no role model, no victim and no hero.

She needs to stay fired.

Apologies for the repeat post. Damn blogger kept telling me the post failed and I kept trying to fix it not knowing I was posting multiple copies. :-(

jms apologizes for his repetition? He should apologize for the content of his repetition. Let me attempt, mildly, to emulate jms in response: "BIGOT! BIGOT! BIGOT!"

Screaming names won't help your cause. Nor will throwing up Rush Limbough as a straw man. He may taunt with words, but she used her power as a bureaucrat to racially discriminate and target and hurt individual people because they were white.

She's the racist bigot and you're her defender. Enjoy your sainted company.

Sherrod was talking about an event that took place 24 YEARS AGO.

THE FARMER DEFENDS SHERROD
From POLITICO:

The farmer, Roger Spooner, now 87, appeared on CNN on Tuesday night from his Georgia home and said Sherrod had been “helpful in every way — she saved our farm.”

“This … is a bunch of hogwash, in my opinion,” he said on “Anderson Cooper 360.” “She was just as nice to us as anyone could have been. And, as far as racism and all, that's — it's just ridiculous.”

Apparently Anonymous 7/22/10's' white hood obstructed his/her view of the full video.

Steve's responses are quite polite, but well on point. Thanks.
