Clarence Thomas to run for president in 2012?

Some people are advocating it.

Sounds like an excellent idea.

He's well respected amongst conservatives. He would probably be the strictest Constitutionalist of the modern era. I'm not sure I see a Commander in Chief though.

Might Clarence be reminiscent of "Silent Cal," the prelude to Herbert Hoover and 1929?

Silence is the surest sign of ignorance. A person who would go 19 years on the Supreme Court virtually mute is a person who fears he might say something stupid were he to actually open his mouth.

Whew! You can always tell when you're reading a liberal blog when the commenters start talking about black Republicans!

If someone advocates that Antonin Scalia run for president in 2012, we can then talk about a white Republican who's not so tight lipped, spouting like Mt. Etna.
