A somewhat jaded view of Obama:

At Troubletown (this week).

May I point out the obvious. And we all knew it was coming.

Expectations were way too high. No one could possibly deliver all of the things that people were expecting of him (not what he promised but what was expected of him). The Obama-crash has come. I hope we can, now, move forward from there.

obama has united the left and right. most of the potshots are the same.

A bit overwrought, to put it mildly. I think it's sad so many so-called "progressives" expected so much of him and are so disappointed. He ran as a slightly left-of-center moderate, and he's governing pretty much as he said he would.

He never promised to be anybody's liberal savior, but progressives believed he did, and now they're calling for his political crucifixion as loudly as the wingnuts. This is why Democrats ultimately fail and are displaced by Republicans - they'd rather hang separately than hang together.
