An opening:

We read -
CIA Director says Cheney sounds like he is ‘wishing that this country would be attacked again.’
Which is a point this blog has made from the start about the former vice-president. But more importantly, this statement by Panetta should be an incentive for Liz Cheney to show up on the cable news networks yet again. She's already done a lot in the first half of June (1 2 3), and Panetta's Cheney-bait should insure that Liz has a boffo month, appearances-wise.

Oh please. At least wait until the U.S. is actually attacked because of your idiot President and incompetent Congress before you start waving your arms at Republicans and saying that it seems like they "wish" it would happen. They don't. They are trying and trying to warn you that your President is totally fucking up national security. We don't want the U.S. to be attacked. We want Obama to come to his senses and start doing his job.

If George Bush could keep America from being attacked on it's own soil for 7 years after 9/11, surely Obama can get through his first year. Right? Or is he that pathetic?

A good step would be for Obama should stop dismantling our national security apparatus. He could follow that up by not releasing all of the AQ terrorists being held at Guantanamo Bay. Perhaps, if his ego can find room, he might actually try consulting some of the Republicans who were responsible for successfully safeguarding the country against attack instead of preemptively blaming them for Obama's ongoing negligence and criminal stupidity.

Dick Cheney (and Anon #2 here) is under the delusion that somehow an AQ attack on U.S. soil would be a vindication of the Bush administration, rather than a glaring reminder to the American public that they had EIGHT YEARS to capture Osama bin Laden and wipe out Al Qaeda. Instead it chose instead to wage a futile war with a nation that had nothing to do with 9/11.

Of course you want the country to be attacked again, Anon #2. If it isn't, Obama gets credit for keeping America safe while simultaneously closing Gitmo and ending the Vietraq War, and Bush's current status as America's worst president ever is cemented for all time.

Note Anon #2 said "kept America safe after the worst terrorist attack in American history that bocccured on his watch"

Dick "Counter-Terrorism Task Force Tsar" kept this country safe for almost 8 months! So there.

He has vast experience in failure, and must be listened to by all serious people.
