Living on the (economic) edge:Are you trying to manage your budget to get by in these tough times? Perhaps paid down debt (e.g. credit cards) and penny-pinching on everything else? Worried about your income, or lack thereof?
Ali Velshi of CNN has
these thoughts:
I almost wonder whether people who live close to the edge, but don't carry a lot of debt are not as affected by this recession. They've sort of been living in that state for a while. There's not a lot of room they've had to fall.
If you've been living on the edge for a while, then you haven't been affected as much as, say, billionaire bankers. So enjoy your time on the edge. Just don't fall off.

I think people who lived within their means and haven't lost their jobs are doing OK. But the people who lost work early, took on mountains of debt or didn't take responsibility for their investments are probably not.
Oh, I DO wonder how the other half lives. You mean, some people don't have jobs? Or health care? Or iPhones? IMAgine!
They have to use credit cards to buy groceries and pay rent? What a world we live in! I'm going to go back to complaining about my stock portfolio that went from $4 million to a mere $250,000. Boo hoo, poor me!
