Two things that never got much coverage:

I'm surprised that the following items didn't become big factors in the presidential race:

• McCain saying folks won't do hard work for $50 an hour
  
  
• Palin approving charging for rape kits once she became mayor or Wasilla

These are easy to understand and could have been politically potent, but they never seemed to get into the mix of the political discussion.
