Will wonders never cease?DOW up 500 points in the last two days. That's 4.7%. Surely, this proves that all worries about the economy are overblown and that Bush, Paulson, and Bernanke - with their various statements this week - have saved the day.

No, it's just that no one can predict the economy over the short term. It's going to bob up and down unpredictably over the next few weeks, and for the rest of our lives and beyond. So stop hyperventilating.
