To hell with due process:

That's what four members of the Supreme Court think. Story: (emp add)
The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that foreign terrorism suspects held at Guantanamo Bay have rights under the Constitution to challenge their detention in U.S. civilian courts.

In its third rebuke of the Bush administration's treatment of prisoners, the court ruled 5-4 that the government is violating the rights of prisoners being held indefinitely and without charges at the U.S. naval base in Cuba. The court's liberal justices were in the majority. ...

In dissent, Chief Justice John Roberts criticized his colleagues for striking down what he called "the most generous set of procedural protections ever afforded aliens detained by this country as enemy combatants."

Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas also dissented. Scalia said the nation is "at war with radical Islamists" and that the court's decision "will make the war harder on us. It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed."
The nation is not at war (at least not officially). "Radical Islamists" do not pose an existential threat. And constitutional protections should not be subjected to a test of utility ("more Americans killed") because if they are, those protections become worthless.

ADDITIONAL STUPIDITY BY THE CHIEF JUSTICE: Since when was having "the most generous set of procedural protections ever afforded aliens detained by this country as enemy combatants" the standard for legitimacy? "Most generous" does not mean legal, or constitutional. Both Roberts and Scalia are showing that they don't give a damn about law.

HERE IT COMES: The Theresienstadt concentration camp was where the inmates were treated "most generously". Did that make it right?

But it is verbotten to have this analogy in your papers, please!

The "liberal media" reports on Guantanmo could have been titled as "The President donates a holiday camp to the terrorists"* in analogy to "Der Führer schenkt den Juden eine Stadt" (The Führer donates a city to the Jews), the infamous "documentary" film that should show the world the "truth" about Nazi concentration camps. Gitmo is also the front/facade for the "black sites" similar to Theresienstadt being the front for the death camps.

*remember the lemon chicken and the inmates playing soccer? Pundits claiming that they would love to have a vacation like that?

All I can say is that the government had better get those animals tried and executed before Obama comes into power and releases all of them.

"It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed."

Isn't this a perfect rationalization for doing away with Americans' right to bear arms?
