American Politics 101:The reason we have Democrats in Congress is:
(a) To provide the necessary votes when the Republican minority is united in support for a bill.
(b) To be a liberal party in name only, so that plutocrats can sleep soundly at night, safe in the knowledge that their interests won't be seriously challenged.
(c) To provide the necessary real-life actors in the long running stage play by David Broder, Thank you, sir! May I have another bipartisan compromise?

Or maybe...
(d) To talk a good fight on the national stage, while (more importantly) providing sweet sweet pork goodies for the democratic voters and taxpayers back home that elected them?
what's going to happen if the right steals yet another national election? i can't imagine this being tolerated one more time without some sort of repercussion.
