Obama = Free trader?

Forget the guns and religion. Here's what he said last week (via TNR):
"... it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to ... anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

A politician from the South Side of Chicago has a lot of nerve criticizing Pennsylvanians for "clinging" to their legally owned guns when his own community is awash with illegal handguns. Who is more "clinging"? Those who openly possess them legally or those who secretly keep them, although they are illegal.

And as for "bitter religion", I have news for Obama. Not all churches are as caustic, bitter and soul destroying as Trinity.

And other churches don't teach "antipathy to people who aren't like them" the way Wright did.

And other churches don't preach "anti-immigrant sentiment" the way Obama's church does.

And who the hell clings to "anti-trade sentiment" anyway? His talking points are getting hopelessly scrambled.

The entire statement amounts to drive-in sized projection. So many gaffes to gloss over. We keep getting little peeks at the substance under the gloss, and it is so very, very ugly.

do you not follow his stump speeches? barack openly acknowledges he believes in free trade. he throws in qualifers, but there is no mistaking he's a free trader.

david sirota however had surprising things to say about goolsbee, who had said, before the canadian incident, that nafta is flawed and corrupt and needs amending.
