Now wait just a goddamn minute.
There is a tremendous gap you're trying to gloss over between "foreign policies abroad reverberating back against America" and proclaiming - in your words - that America "deserves opprobrium by God."
Yes, Wright is claiming that 9/11 is blowback for acts it has committed. That point is factually and logically arguable.
But the whole fucking point of the sermon is that violence can only beget violence and that we should therefore not be seeking vengence, not that "we deserved what we got."
