Great news everybody!Strong general-election-candidate McCain almost a lock for the Republican nomination. Edwards dropping out. Clinton on the cusp, and working every angle to win (e.g. Michigan delegates).
This presidential election is going to be one we can all get excited about. Hours and hours of listening to St. John utter the words "my friends", more red-faced outbursts from former demi-god Bill Clinton, and the mellifluous voice of Hillary at a political rally.
Who says the American political system is broken?

Time to renew my prescription for Neurontin. This will be the most depressing presidential election year since...well, 2004. I'll need all the help I can get.
No matter which of the two we end up stuck with, we're screwed. I'm sorry, but I just can't vote for Billary. Four more years of cynical Clinton triangulation and endless Republican obstructionism is more than this poor soul can take. I don't think she can beat McCain anyway. Obama would have a better chance of defeating him.
The media will be more than happy to pimp for McCain. Prepare to hear the word "maverick" 8,563 times between now and the general election (with at least half of those reference coming from Chris Matthews. He must have said it five times in ten minutes last night). Conservatives are unhappy about McCain's ascendancy, but they'll fall in line behind the "War Hero" soon enough, especially if Clinton is the nominee. She'll galvanize the right wing as never before. At least half the country hates her guts. People who have never voted in their lives will register just so they can vote against her.
