We must bomb Iran:
No matter what the NIE says
, it's indisputable that Iran is pursuing "weapons related program activities".
If Iran is enriching uranium in order to use it to generate nuclear power, then where is the power plant?
The Russian-built one doesn't count because Russia is providing the fuel as well.
Why would Iran be enriching Uranium but not building a corresponding nuclear power plant to use it in?
The NIE is worthless because it is compiled by State Department Democrats who are more focused on defeating the Republicans than in preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
The incurious dolt in the White House now says he was told about the NIE earlier this summer, but was not told its details. Apparently he didn't think it important enough to, you know, ask a question or two about it.
He's lying, as usual. He's known about it for months, but dismisses it because it runs counter to Cheney's war plans.
Bush is caught in "Reagan's Bind." Either Reagan traded arms for hostages and lied about it, which made him a criminal, or he honestly didn't know what was going on in his own administration, which revealed his incompetency.
So either Bush knew about the NIE and is lying about it so he can start another illegal invasion, which makes him a criminal (again), or he actually didn't bother to read it, which reveals him as an amiable dunce out of the loop in his own White House.
Sometimes it's hard to tell which scenario is the right one.
Either way, the administration will go ahead with Cheney's plan for "Operation Iranian Liberation."
The acronym sums it up nicely.
Oh, and "State Department Democrats." That's hysterical. So State, under a Republican president, is staffed with Democrats? That's the standard GOP line: Don't blame us, we're powerless! The Democrats are the real power behind this administration!
It's BS, of course, but it reveals jms as a foot soldier in the actual war going on here. Republicans don't fear terrorists half as much as they fear liberals.
Lots of bluster, but you haven't addressed my question. Why are they enriching uranium but not building a power reactor to burn it in?
