The Republican choice:

In a Politico (yes) article, Republicans Fear 2008 Meltdown, we read:
Republicans across the country are warning that increasing public discontent toward President Bush, the Iraq war and the GOP brand in general threatens to send the party's 2008 campaign planning into a tailspin.

[...]

How to restore the GOP brand? "That's what we're struggling with, honestly," said Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.). "Do you positively brand yourself, or do you negatively brand the other side?"
What do you think they will do?

Looking at polling data is a good start.

For example, Americans do not want an open-ended, never-ending, ungodly expensive occupation of Iraq.

Yet Rs, to use the advert. lingo, have adopted this position as their "brand."

As they say, good luck with that.

I mean, it's unsafe now to even walk in the Green Zone in Baghdad due to the rockets falling on it.

What has become so reprehensible about acknowledging reality ?

Republicans will project.

Example: Rush Bunghole says don't elect Dems because Dems are racists.

Republicans project all their own failures and all their own crimes. How about keeping the "religion" of Darwinism out of public schools? Repugs are big on that issue of keeping religion out of schools, right?

How about not supporting the troops? Not balancing the budget? Appointing activist judges?

Those scary Dems that they warn about aren't real. Repugs are just looking in the mirror.

azael is correct. They will just steal the next election better.

They tried to steal 2006 but they weren't able to steal it THAT big.
