A moral catastrophe:
If the Senate passes the antiterrorism bill, it will be this nation's disgrace. There are many, many problems with the bill - as the New York Times editorial
pointed out. But it's not the number of problems, it's that each of them rips up a significant civil right or restraint on the executive.
It's hard to care much about politics in the wake of this development. One thing is certain. The Republican party will henceforth have no standing
to lecture anybody anywhere about anything regarding "morality".
