What the hell is going on?

Item One:
Bush to Putin: "... I talked about my desire to promote institutional change in parts of the world like Iraq where there's a free press and free religion, and I told him that a lot of people in our country would hope that Russia would do the same thing ...
Item Two:
Bush at a press event: "Does it concern you that the Beirut airport has been bombed?" a reporter asked. "And do you see a risk of triggering a wider war?"

"I thought you were going to ask me about the pig," Bush replied blithely.
Item Three:
Bush at the G8 summit:

Bush says some open mike garbage and the MSM start looking for occasions a Dem might have done something similar (Kerry,Clinton).
Maybe tonight the networks can find a former President who grabbed a G-8 member around the shoulders.

Actually anonymous, Q didn't mention the "Yo Blair! We gots to get them bad dudes to stop doing that shit" comment. (Whoa, like that's deep.)

Jesus, people. Look at the man's eyes. He's either drunk or undead.

It's pretty clear to me that he figures (given the military plans he's making) the world is just about to end, one way or another. He knows that his people have gambled away the treasure that the U.S. held when he stole the office and that, despite how hard they're trying to postpone it, the entire economy is on the verge of crashing. He's set up his family with all of the ill-gotten gains they'll ever need and now he's just waiting out the clock, knowing that it's all going to come crashing down. Don't believe it? Why did they stop publishing the figures on the amount of money being printed? That's a major event but it doesn't make a ripple in the news? Watch the idiot man-child, he's showing that he knows that the end is near and he'll be protected enough not to suffer because of it...."The end is near" is finally right.

Look at the whole series of photos from the bild site.

Those eyes!

He's on something.

Maybe this is why Bush never went abroad when he was younger -- he loses control when out of the country for too long.

Mark, besides the subliterate language with Blair, Bush was also talking with his mouth full, spitting crumbs -- very presidential.

But the thing with Merkel isn't that far off from the constant face clasping, Lieberman kissing, and bald head rubbing Bush does with men. It's just a small progression to start inappropriate touching of women and world leaders.

With Putin, Bush had clearly been singing "The Big Iraq Candy Mountain" a few too many times with Cheney and Rumsfeld.

What else could he have answered the question with? "Israel has the right to defend itself when attacked, but launching a strike on people who never had anything to do with the attack is senseless and immoral." His irony meter is broken but not even he could get those words out.

He reminds me of 12 year old kids at the movies on their own -- making catcalls because they are on their own for pretty much the first time.

The G8 reminds me of that sequenc in 'The Royal Tannenbaums,' when 'Baumer has a nervous breakdown while playing in the tennis finals.

Maybe Bush's adopted sister just married some neurologist played by Bill Murray.

Maybe Bush misstook the German Chancellor for Harriet Miers.

Dry drunk

... only maybe not so dry lately.

What a total embarassment.

So this is the quality of analytical, rational response in Left Blogistan? Making ad hominem remarks about Our Leader because he's a dry drunk and likes to lighten things up in those stuffy G8 meetings with a little horseplay?

Surely we can do better than this. I, for one, would point out that... well that, in light of world events... in the current... I mean, at least you could point out that his position on the current conflict is... well it's...

Okay, fuck it. The man's a turd.

To be fair to Bush, as idiotic as he comes out of all the things mentioned in the post and the open-mike incident, he's still not quite as pathetic as Tony - can I pleasepleaseplease go on a middle east trip? - Blair.

We're just massaging them over there, so we don't have to massage them over here!

Um, who cares about the dorkishness of what he says and does? The fact that what he says and does is stupid, wrong and dangerous should be a bit more important.

Oh, he said "shit"! Who cares!? He said "all we have to do is make Syria stop it" and THAT is monumentally ignorant.
