Krauthammer is completely wrong:

These are the opening words of his op-ed today:
1861. 1941. 2001. Our big wars -- and the war on terrorism ranks with the big ones ...
Study that for a moment. The fight against Al Qaeda ranks with the Civil War and the war against Germany, Italy, and Japan?

If you believe that, you'll believe anything.

Now you're supposed to go on an diagnose Krauthammer as having some psychological disorder. I'd say some kind of inferiority complex- the need to believe that the events of his lifetime are as or more historically relevant than anything that's happened previously.

Well, those years end in "1", and the USA is #1, so it makes sense to me.

Also, 1 is the loneliest number, it's 1 for all and all for 1, it takes 1 to know 1

One could, of course, go on.

Interesting. Once AQ gets a few nukes, and kills a few western cities, will your evaluation change?

Yes, yes it will, anonymous. And when the Martians attack and enslave us all, you'll be singing a different tune, too.

Right! And it'll be a Slim Whitman number, "Cattle Call," with the yodel that kills Martians (film reference).
