NBC loves Coulter?Just heard on local Los Angeles right-wing talk radio (KABC AM) that Ann Coulter will be in the city for a taping of the Tonight show on Wednesday. This does not appear to be confirmed (yet) by online listings, but sound solid.
If it happens, it will be a disgrace.
UPDATE: It's solid.
It will happen. Featuring a debate between Coulter and 69-year old George Carlin. It's going to be a fiasco. We liked Carlin back in the 1970's, but he's way off his game now. They should have booked Arianna Huffington, Eric Alterman, or somebody like that. Somebody sharp.
EARLY FOLLOWUP: According to this
liveblog of the Tonight show, Carlin was not a participant in any debate and Coulter was given a forum for her views. Thanks, NBC!

I heard that she will be `debating' (read: getting mauled by) George Carlin.
I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it.
But when you have TWO people who like it...
Yeah, I wouldn't count old George out on this one.
He'll at least be more amusing than Satan's girlfriend.
Huffington would lose. Badly. She'd be walking funny the rest of the week.
I have no doubts that Huffington would slaughter Coulter in a real debate.
But this is a fake comedy `debate' on Leno. Huffington would come across as the wealthy dowager who gets the vapors whenever the plucky upstart Coulter opens her mouth.
If you want to beat Coulter in a fake comedy debate, Carlin's a pretty good choice.
Though Bill Maher might have been a better choice.
It's hard to pin Carlin down politically -- he's anti-authoritarian but not necessarily on the left. It'll probably veer off into a slapfight about religion, which he's not a big fan of. Still, she's no better than an amateur wit and he's still basically a pro, so I bet he'll get more laughs, and every time he does she'll be trying and failing to hide the purse-lipped look of resentment on her face....
Sigh. I must apologise. I misread a statement in a forum (which talked about ``Coulter vs. Carlin''), and turned it into a debate.
Still, I did clearly identify it as hearsay.
