Some folks aren't so keen on the US winning in Iraq:

Andrew Sullivan (yes, we know) posts an interesting e-mail from somebody who worries about the consequences of success in Iraq. That they may not bode well for the U.S. in the long run.

Worth reading.

I think the writer attributes too much faith in empirical analysis to the holy rollers.

If we succeed in Iraq, they may conclude American Theocracy is God's will. But if we don't succeed in Iraq, there's nothing to stop them concluding that too was God's will because there was too much secularism in the government.

After all, it wouldn't be the first time God has refused to confirm his existance on demand.
