Sherlock Holmes: "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time.""The dog did nothing in the night-time."
"That was the curious incident."
Today:
"The curious incident of the candidates in the lead up to the December elections in Iraq."
"The candidates have done nothing leading up to the elections," you say.
"That is the curious incident."
Okay, enough fancy talk. Have you read anything at all about the campaigns for the December 15 election? Any speeches? Any political ads? Anything at all?
Extremely odd.

Colnsidering the extremely high probability that any announced candidate would likely be assassinated, I can understand why their "campaigns" have been very low key. Indeed, campaigning in Iraq is probably limited to quietly handing out government jobs and small packets of cash under the table.
Go visit iraqthemodel.blogspot.com. There is certainly no lack of political advertising in Iraq! Apparently, the major cities are plastered with thousands of political posters, and according to Omar, "more than 20 lists and parties sent hundreds of thousands of messages via cell phones throughout the country" It has been reported that since the war hundreds of political newspapers are now being published in Iraq, and there are hundreds if not thousands of Iraqi weblogs, most focusing on politics. Iraq now has hundreds of thousands of satellite dishes, and one would assume that the owners of those dishes are using them to inform themselves politically. So I fail to understand your claim that there is a lack of political activity in Iraq.
