Black is white. Up is down. Etc.

From the NYT, Liberal Hopes Ebb in Post-Storm Poverty Debate report about how post-Katrina policy: (emp add)
... even as he was calling for deep spending cuts last week, Representative Mike Pence, Republican of Indiana, who leads the conservative caucus, called tax reductions for the prosperous a key to fighting poverty.
How can you argue with that?

If we just let the rich live tax-free, then the rest of us will be able to work for them as domestic servants, gardeners, and so on. Once the minimum-wage laws are repealed, then everyone can qualify for the earned-income tax credit.

See how prosperous we'll all be? Just like the Wall Street Journal editorial said: Lucky ducks, everyone.

Expect to hear this one sometime soon as well... "The recession would have been worse if it weren't for the tax cuts."
