"This is no time for politics" - Joe Lieberman

New York Times:

... the chairwoman and the ranking minority member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee said hearings would be held. "Government at all levels failed," said Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine and chairwoman of the panel, who appeared with the ranking Democrat, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman ...

"In some sense, not just the Gulf Coast was attacked but America's self-confidence in the aftermath of the way government responded to this crisis," he said. "And this is no time for politics."

GAC Chairman Lieberman during the 2002 confirmation hearings for Michael Brown's appointment to head FEMA:

I am glad the President has nominated someone already familiar with FEMA's mission to become Deputy Director.

I will certainly support your nomination. I will do my best to move it through the Committee as soon as possible so we can have you fully and legally at work in your new position.

Leave it to Holy Joe to help the White House make sure that nobody is ever held accountable for the deaths of thousands.

Last time I looked, both the Torah and the Talmud said we need to be responsible for the lives of others, and that we must take action to prevent preventable deaths. But I guess Joe never gets very far in his Torah--he probably stops when he gets to the part about it being an abomination to charge interest.

Oh well, guess Joe was too busy attacking Hollywood that week to bother investigating Brownie boy. No wonder he doesn't want to find anyone responsible!

Does "someone already familiar with FEMA's mission" mean "someone who has read FEMA's mission statement."

Way to set the bar.

I've already mentioned that the US Senate has to get some of the blame for confirming MD Brown and M Chertoff.

What a lot of chuckleheads we have in office today.

Joe Lieberman sucks a great deal of ass. It is to Al Gore's shame that he once thought that Holy Joe was capable of being a heartbeat away from the presidency. I wouldn't hire Joementum to wipe a dog's ass.
