ANGRY UPDATE: Think it can't get any worse? In today's Fox News story, Some Voters Still Flip-Flop After Debate, we read:
Of course, there were some Kerry supporters in attendance who had no doubts whatever about their candidate.

"We're trying to get Comrade Kerry elected and get that capitalist enabler George Bush out of office," said 17-year-old Komoselutes Rob of Communists for Kerry.

"Even though he, too, is a capitalist, he supports my socialist values more than President Bush," Rob said, before assuring FOXNews.com that his organization was not a parody group. When asked his thoughts on Washington's policy toward Communist holdout North Korea, Rob said: "The North Koreans are my comrades to a point, and I'm sure they support Comrade Kerry, too."

It is unclear whether the Kerry campaign has welcomed the Communists' endorsement.

Who are Communists for Kerry? From their parody website (the ABOUT US page):
"Communists for Kerry" is a campaign of the Hellgate Republican Club, a tax exempt non-partisan public advocacy "527" organization that exists for the purpose of;

"Informing voters with satire and irony, how political candidates make decisions based on the failed social economic principles of socialism that punish the individual by preventing them from becoming their dream through proven ideas of entrepreneurship and freedom."
(Source: Again, karen in Political Animal's comments)

(Actually, we kind of like the Communists for Kerry website. It's well done.)

Longtime fan of the site. But, don’t get angry. I think it's obvious that "Communists for Kerry" is a spoof to any but the most gullible of Faux readers. And those same readers will likely believe that "Billionaires for Bush" is real also.

"There should have been some advertising, some commercials to generate money for the U.S.A.," said Hugh G. Monument, VII of Billionaires for Bush. "What I love about Bush is his money, and his ability to make more money"

Sorta' funny. A little.

Keep up the great work.

anon: Fox only goes so far as to say that they were reassured these guys weren't a parody. They never checked the website, obviously.

As to who believes this stuff? I have a friend who has a brother-in-law in Missouri, and he occasionally forwards email from that guy. They believe it lots of wild things. Excerpts:

-o- The fact that the left has embraced [Michael Moore] makes me think that this country may be closer to another civil war than I ever imagined.

-o- The stuff that the democrats have done to Bush this year is unprecedented in American politics and history.

-o- Yes, democrats are week on defense and always will be. And yes they are weak on crime and yes they are the primary reason why there is very little justice in the U. S. Judicial system today.

Hey, Fox, race you to the bottom!

Billionaires for Bush does street theater, and they do it over the top. These guys were hanging around an event specifically to get interviewed by Fox and with the intention of fooling Fox audience. (well, we all know tha ain't too hard.)

How about a "Nazis, whores and thieves for Bush" website. Oh wait, there's the RNC.

Quiddity,

Go back and study American history if you think the content of this years political statements are unprecedented. For example, when Jefferson ran against Adams in the birth ages of political discourse in this country the following statement was thrown out that if Jefferson was elected "murder, robbery, rape, adultery, and incest will be openly taught and practiced". Even this political year has not come close to being that vile, even though the Republicans like to claim that the Democrats will ban the bible if John Kerry is elected. Your sense of political discourse in our country is deeply amateurish is factually inaccurate.

In response to your other points, no, Democrats are not weak on defense, we just prefer a military structured to the threats of tomorrow instead of rediculously overpriced and underperforming weapons systems. No, Democrats are not weak on crime, and no we are not the reason there is little justice in the Judicial system. Who sponsors tort reform? Who wants to strip the courts of their duty to hear certain cases? Who has appointed and stacked more activist judges to the Federal Judiciary in the past 30 years? Your grip on the reality of our systems of politics and justice are woefully ignorant.

I keep waiting for someone to comment about the man who didn't want to have a democrat vote on his "record". Do we have voting records now? Is this something that can be checked like a criminal record or a credit history?
Crazy world.

I think Quiddity was posting quotes from his/her friend's brother-in-law, not things he/she actually believes. Read a little closer before you get too upset.

Anonymous,

Go back and study Quiddity's comment if you think he was saying that the content of this years political statements are unprecedented.

I do not like these blogger comments one little bit, for the record.

Second Anonymous up there: Read Q's comment with your good eye. He's quoting idiotic things certain wingers believe about Democrats and the state of discourse, not making those statements himself. Sheesh.

cerebrocrat and Anonymous,

You are both right, I looked over "Excerpts:". Thanks for taking me to task :).

"How about a "Nazis, whores and thieves for Bush" website. Oh wait, there's the RNC."

They're gonna be insulted - you left out 'thugs' and 'looters'.

While this garbage is reported as fact, it is not widely
known that the KKK, a domestic terrorist organization
that openly endorses the murder of minorities and
homosexuals, has officially endorsed president Bush
for re-election.

Re: KKK officially endorsing Bush

Got a link that'd document this? I'd love to be able to use that, but I can't use it if I can't back it up.

If a big deal is made out of this, here's what will happen: It will get the 'metrosexual' meme out to the people who didn't see it on the web site, kind of like how the swift vets got national coverage for local ads. It's bait, pure and simple. The hook is that it won't be Fox that's saying Kerry's a metrosexual or whatever, it'll be liberal blogs and news sources saying Kerry's a metrosexual while quoting Fox.

Fox doesn't have to convince anyone of anything. There are two kinds of people in the world: Those who know Fox is a lie, and those who will never be convinced that it isn't.
