Yeah!

UPDATE - BLAST FROM THE PAST: Bush in the 2003 State of the Union address:
Our war against terror is a contest of will in which perseverance is power. In the ruins of two towers, at the western wall of the Pentagon, on a field in Pennsylvania, this nation made a pledge, and we renew that pledge tonight: Whatever the duration of this struggle, and whatever the difficulties, we will not permit the triumph of violence in the affairs of men -- free people will set the course of history.

Or maybe it all depends on what the meaning of "it" is!

Actually, it depends on who 'you' is.

Bush is like a kid who bought the deluxe model airplane, didn't read the instructions, glued his hand to his forehead, and then proclaims that no one could've put it together correctly. What a moron.

I actually think the war can be won in the same manner we can win the war on drugs or war against teenage pregnancy. We can do something to reduce the problem, we can make the problem more manageable. Can we win in such a way as to eliminate the problem forever? No, of course not.
How do we make it more manageable? Clearly, violence must be an option and clearly we must be willing, ready and able to use it. But violence can never be our only response, just as locking up drug users can never solve the drug problem by itself and advocating abstinence-only can never solve the teenage pregnancy problem without other measures taken at the same time.
