32,000 new workers = ? The news is out, U.S. employers added 32,000 to payrolls in July.
Let's do a little back-of-the-envelope calculation and focus on mid-sized states. Ones with a population between 4 and 6 million. Those
states are:
- Alabama
- Arizona
- Colorado
- Kentucky
- Louisana
- Maryland
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Washington
- Wisconsin
Interesting that several are battleground states.
Each state has about 1.6% of the population (5 mil/300 mil) so of those 32,000 jobs, each state got 513 jobs in the month of July. That's really small.
