Geography lesson: - President Bush frequently flies to Camp David on the helicopter Marine One.
- Camp David is located within the boundaries of Catoctin Mountain Park, which is immediately west of Thurmont, Maryland.
- Camp David is 54 miles from the center of Washington D.C. (as the crow flies)
- When Bush was in San Diego, the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln was 39 miles from the coast.
- Bush could have used a helicopter, but chose to land on the ship in a small S-3B Viking jet.
